A quick and easy guide on how to uninstall and reinstall the Sparta for Excel add-in.
The Sparta for Excel Add-in for Live Curves enables users to export portfolios and products directly to Excel with live updates, enabling you to integrate and manipulate our data with your worksheets, cross-reference with other data, and make links with your models.
For larger updates, closing and re-opening Excel for changes to take effect may be required, or uninstalling and re-installing the Sparta for Excel add-in may be required.
We have put together this quick guide to get you up and running with the latest that Sparta for Excel has to offer as quickly as possible with minimal disruption.
Step 1 – Reload the Sparta for Excel add-in
Navigate to the Sparta for Excel add-in tab in Excel. In the menu panel on the right, left-click in the top right, and close the green Live indicator, and a small box with a lift arrow will appear.
Click on ‘Reload’, the latest version of Sparta for Excel add-in, which should now be active.
You should be seeing two data providers with different colour codes under 'Add Product – Swaps'. If you do not, please continue to step 3 to update your add-in.
Step 2 – Close and re-open Excel
Please save all worksheets and close Microsoft Excel. When opening Excel for the first time after the update, converting old formulas to reflect newer ones could take up to one minute.
If you still can’t see the new provider in red under ‘Add Product – Swaps’, please continue to step 3.
Step 3 – Uninstall and re-install the Sparta for Excel add-in
Navigate to the ‘Home’ tab in the main navigation pane at the top and click on ‘Add-ins’.
Click on ‘+ More Add-ins’
Click on my ‘MY ADD-INS’ and then click on the three dots in the top right corner of the Sparta for Excel add-in.
Click ‘Remove’
Click ‘Remove’
Once the add-in has been successfully removed, click on ‘STORE’ and search for ‘Sparta for Excel’, and press enter.
Click on ‘Add’ next to the Sparta for Excel add-in.
Click ‘Continue’
If your IT department manages your Microsoft Office add-ins, and you can’t see the Sparta for Excel add-in, please check the ‘ADMIN MANGED’ tab next to the ‘STORE’ tab.
